I love this time of year. The heat and humidity here in the Midwest give way to cooler, crisp air and some fabulous fall days. And, of course, it’s back-to-school time. My wife went back today. The latest course I’m teaching at the University of Wisconsin Green Bay kicks off on Wednesday, and my professional reading/interviewing list is overflowing!
It’s also time for the fall sessions of my two flagship professional development programs, the Senior Manager Program and the New(er) Manager Program.
Here’s the short story for each program. If professional development is on your or your team members’ agenda, these are two great options. Let me know if you have any questions or if you want to chat with a reference.

The Senior Manager Program (SMP)
The SMP is for experienced managers striving to scale their impact. The program titles range from senior manager (go figure) to director, vice president, and a wide variety of C-level roles. (We had two CFOs in our most recent cohort!)
We meet 1x per month over five sessions for three hours focused on content critical for those professionals striving to lead and impact their organizations at scale. Typically, one hour is devoted to a guest expert, and the balance of the time is spent working together as a cohort, exploring ideas and approaches related to the session’s topic.
Between sessions, each participant works with me in a one-on-one coaching session to tailor the material and development actions to their unique situation.
This is a unique program, and judging by the testimonials, the cohort members find it incredibly valuable! Let me know if you have questions. Our next cohort kicks off on 10/10 via Zoom. Learn more and register. $1,995 per seat.
From one participant:
Working with Art has been a transformative experience for my development and growth as a senior manager. The practical insights I gained from Art’s training program and coaching far surpass those from my formal executive MBA. The Senior Manager Program has elevated my leadership to the next level, equipping me with advanced concepts and techniques to lead strategic initiatives and drive complex transformation.

The New(er) Manager Program (NMP)
Designed for those new to the role or with less than 18 months on the job, this program focuses on helping individuals build a strong foundation for success and growth in the manager role.
As a cohort, we explore The Manager’s Operating System™ and ten core programs that focus on the behaviors and activities essential for building a healthy working environment and generating great engagement and results with and through others.
In addition to the building-a-strong-foundation content, individuals develop their skills for coaching, feedback, delegating, building a team-focused culture, running great one-on-ones, and building performance through goal-setting, among other things.
I incorporate 1×1 coaching in addition to the cohort sessions to ensure I can focus on each individual’s unique issues and challenges.
Over 2,000 new(er) managers have participated in this one-of-a-kind program in the past few years. I hope you or your new(er) manager team member(s) leverage this uniquely valuable professional development experience. We kick off on 9/25 and meet every two weeks for 2.5 hours (5 sessions) as a cohort. $697/seat. Learn more and register.
From one sponsoring manager:
Art is by far the best trainer/coach I have had the honor to work with. His no-Powerpoint style brings everyone into the discussions and really elevates the conversation. I am also amazed at the quality of the participants and guest presenters, Art attracts some of the sharpest minds in business who are also so humble. I highly recommend Art’s workshops!
