Hi Art,

Thnx for a great post on explaining why I get frustrated among some leaders and energized and happy among others. The reflection/feedback and followup part is the one I think is the most important, that will work as a reminder for all the others but it will not be like the reminders my mom came with: "Clean your room today!" :D

I just wish I could have my management team to read this post (and all the others)

Have a great day

Art,
Thank you for a great post. What an accurate portrait of a transactional leader. The greatest disadvantage a transactional leader has is a loss of the ability to learn from those she/he is leading. When a person functions like the leader in your post, a follower has no ability to help the leader grow.
Blessings,
Dave

I enjoyed this Post,

I see this style often in operations driven teams versus market driven teams.
They are activity based and not results based.

One I would like to add one to your list is ; 6.create a Passion statement. Once done correctly for your business, can act as the glue to keep your team focused and connected to the true mission of your business and how it solves market problems. ( I blogged about passion statements today if your readers would like to learn more)

Great post I plan to share
