		<description>Art: I am saddened by the thought of all of those books on business leadership that would have to be thrown away if your simple suggestion took off!

I like the list of 5; however, you didn&#039;t point one very important thing. &quot;Provide them with challenging opportunities.&quot; is very, very hard to do. This takes some real thought on the part of the manager. It&#039;s all too easy to hand off trivial busy work. Coming up with tough assignments over and over again that are well matched to what a worker can do while causing them to stretch and grow is the hallmark of a great leader.
